Hajime "Tokido" Taniguchi is a renowned Japanese fighting game player, widely recognized for his versatility and technical mastery across multiple titles. He began his fighting game journey at the age of 7, playing Street Fighter II, and throughout his career, he has competed in numerous games, including The King of Fighters, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom, and BlazBlue. Tokido is one of the few players to win titles across multiple editions of EVO, the world’s biggest fighting game tournament. He claimed victory in Capcom vs. SNK 2 (2002), Super Street Fighter II Turbo (2007), and Street Fighter V (2017), demonstrating his longevity and adaptability in the competitive scene. Known as "Murderface" due to his intense and serious expression during matches, Tokido is regarded as one of Japan’s "Five Gods" of fighting games, alongside Daigo Umehara, Shinya Onuki, Tatsuya Haitani, and Naoto Sako.
